Cellular Medicine

  • What is Anti-Aging Medicine?

Anti-aging medicine is a clinical/medical specialty and field of scientific research aimed at the early detection, prevention, treatment, and reversal of age-related decline. It is well documented by peer-reviewed medical and scientific journals and employs evidence-based methodologies to conduct patient assessments.  Anti-aging medicine is responsible for identifying the cell markers that can determine how old you really are on the inside.

  • What is Free Radical Oxidation?

Free Radical Oxidation  occurs in all cells and is the exhaust of cellular energy production.   Free radicals are single unbound elements like oxygen that have a missing electron, and therefore are unstable.

  • What is Functional Medicine?

Functional Medicine is an integrative, science-based health care approach that treats illness and promotes wellness by focusing on the biochemically unique aspects of each patient, and then individually tailoring interventions to restore physiological, psychological, and structural balance.

Functional Medicine focuses on understanding the fundamental physiological processes, the environmental inputs, and the genetic predispositions that influence health and disease so that interventions are focused on treating the cause of the problem, not just masking the symptoms.

  • What is Hormonal Optimization?

As we age, hormonal levels decrease and two harmful hormones, insulin and cortisol  increase.    Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement  therapy is a foundation of Age Management Medicine for both men and women.  HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy) is one of the best ways of controlling Silent Inflammation.

  • What is the Optimal Health Continuum?

Optimal Health starts at the cellular level.  This usually occurs in the first part of your life, say 0-30 years of age.   Chronic disease, is where most  (50%) of the U.S. healthcare dollar is spent. The end- stage of the health continuum represents a state of extreme illness or premature death, whereas the beginning of the health continuum represents a state of optimal health. Traditional medicine has almost exclusively focused on the  illness side.  Health promotion has traditionally focused on the optimal health side of the continuum.

  • What are Cellular Metabolic Markers?

These are very specific cell metabolites, enzymes, hormones and minerals etc., that can be measured by sophisticated testing. We use several laboratory panels that tell which markers may indicate future trouble.

  • What are Neurotransmitters?

Neurotransmitters are naturally occurring chemicals within the brain that relay signals between the nerve cells and are required for proper brain and body function.  A proper balance of neurotransmitter levels helps achieve optimal health and keeps you healthy and balanced.

  • What is Nutritional and Digestive Correction?

This refers to balancing the gut flora  so that nutrients can be absorbed and that the immune system becomes balanced.

  • What are Chronic Digestive Diseases?

These are a group of diseases that start at the cellular level 10-20-30- years before initial symptoms can occur. The diseases are many and include cancers, heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, etc.

  • What are the organ systems that we need to optimize?

  • The Digestive
  • Elimination and Lymphatic systems
  • The Brain
  • Neuro-transmitter and Bio-energy systems
  • The Blood and Cardiac system
  • The Glandular; Hormonal system (including the brain)
  • The Muscle and Skeletal systems-The Immune and Chromosomal (DNA) support systems.
  • Will my insurance cover this?

Insurance treats disease from the old HMO disease model and is based on a seven minute doctor exam to control costs.  We are exactly the opposite as we prevent disease by using the newer tests and technologies that sustain health and identify problems before they become systemic. Our exams are much more detailed.  Your insurance may cover some of the diagnostic testing but very little else.  We are not a provider for any of the major insurance carriers, including Medicare and Medicaid.  We will assist you with diagnostic insurance codes and narratives for you to submit to your Flex-Plan or insurance carrier.
